CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

Among the key points of crime and punishment is the trial process of the criminal; which must be fair with due process and access to legal representation are critical components of the justice system. It allows the accused the opportunity to defend himself, preventing his rights from being violated by making arbitrary decisions and thus guaranteeing that the sentence is fair based on the crime committed. With the use of evidence collection techniques that allow us to verify whether the accused really committed the crime, thus improving the effectiveness of the trial process and reducing recidivism.

CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY

Combined critical thinking has a special meaning. It is a term applied to the analysis of data or ideas by using observation, experience, reasoning and logic to reach a conclusion. When we think critically, we try to go beyond understanding only the surface elements of a text, idea or problem and try to decipher the implicit intentions or arguments behind them and question them.

Media literacy is learning to “read” the media to find the underlying meanings in a text. By listening or looking twice we can pick up information that may contain important clues about these messages.
